Just a placeholder for now, will add the real thing soon!
I can't say I'm surprised. The signs have been there ever since they announced the Bow show, and the fall Daigekijou announcement was really, really suspicious.
I'm sad, I'm really, really sad. Micchan means the world to me. Not sure how much I've publicly shared, but becoming Micchan's fan was one of the things that got me out of a really crappy depressive funk in 2007-08. I've been in her fan club for eight years now, and it's seen me through a lot of different things in my personal life. There's so many places that I associate with, "Looking at my phone and gleefully awaiting to hear what Micchan is up to next." That hope got me through a lot of hard times.
At the same time, this top star era has truly been a gift. I was NOT expecting to get it, and it's been so amazing. I don't think I've written much here about either Guys and Dolls or Koumori, but they were both incredible, and I'm so glad she was able to have those experiences and show the world what an amazing top star she is.
And for those curious - I do have some money that I set aside specifically for taidan, so assuming nothing crazy happens, I should be there in the fall.
This won't really hit me for a while, and I suspect I'll work my way through the stages of fandom grief. I will happily take any comfort while I sit here and pout *g*
But mostly...thank you, Micchan. I'm not totally being tongue-in-cheek when I say I often think What Would Hokushou Kairi Do? You've given me so much hope and courage, and you've inspired me to be a better person. I'll be cheering you on to the end. And let's face it, probably after that too ;)

Organizing stage photos tonight makes me reminisce, and I wanted to post this anecdote.
I have been to more Micchan ochakai/shimbokukai than any other seito, and yet I never won anything at a Micchan event. Really, this is a point of pride more than anything else. I love getting signed Micchan things, but the truth is over the years I've acquired a *lot* of them. (I even have a few that are personalized to me! ♥♥♥) I don't actually *need* to own another signed Micchan photo - I just really want to say I won one at an ochakai XD
I only went to two ochakai last trip, Micchan's and Tomu's. Tragically, my "losing" streak continued at this iteration of みっ茶 (I had an otherwise amazing time, obviously ^_~). You see, it's my "curse" to win at everyone's ochakai *except* for Micchan. Leading up to my latest Japan trip, I had won prizes at ochakai for Aran Kei, Kiriya Hiromu, Toki Irisu, Ayami Haya, and Seijou Kaito. (I actually won *two* different times at Magee-cha).
Tomu's ochakai was the day following Micchan's, and I went with Tomu club member
glitteryopinion. I hadn't won yet that trip, and Tomu's was my only ochakai left. So despite the fact that Tomu-cha drew a fairly large audience and the odds weren't great, guess who won? >:D I was certainly a *very* happy Becca, but the whole thing was unsurprising really ;)
Also not shocking was that Tomu couldn't say my last name ^^; She got out "Rebecca" and then just gave up. No one can say it, most westerners included. Even if I ever go to an ochakai for some seito who was born in Germany, I'm sure that they too won't be able to say "Schlichtig."
Given that I stayed at
glitteryopinion's house that week, it's a small miracle that my shiny new Tomu photo made it back with me XD

I have the following posters up for grabs. See the last post for rules. Some of these are varying degrees of beat up, but I've tried to indicate if anything is severe.

I really do hate throwing things out. I hope that the things I'm willing to part with will be someone else's treasure.
The rules: Yes, this means you can claim something, even if I don't know you that well. First come, first serve, and obviously everything is used. I only ask you to pay shipping and packaging (I'm currently underemployed, so if you feel like throwing in cash for items, I wouldn't *complain* ^_~). I don't mind shipping internationally, but keep in mind that heavy items cost a lot to ship. I need to get this taken care of within the next week before I go back to California. I can only take PayPal.
With that said, here's what I have thus far:
Media tie-in novels/comics:
-Star Trek Voyager: Her Klingon Soul (Day of Honor #3) (B'Elanna focused)
-Babylon 5 #2: Accusations (focuses on Ivanova and Garibaldi)
-Babylon 5 #7: The Shadow Within (Anna Sheridan and Morden, I think this is canon...)
-Star Trek Deep Space 9 #5: Fallen Heroes
-Star Trek: The Next Generation: Imzadi (canon, Riker/Troi focused)
-Stargate SG-1 #2: Sacrifice Moon
-Serenity comics #2 (Book cover) and #3 (Simon cover)
Anime/manga related:
-Slayers doujinshi "Koitsu ga ichiban!" by RAIMARU. Approximately 50 pages, black and white
-Final Fantasy VII doujinshi "Future III" by Nodoka Kyose
-Howl's Moving Castle pamphlet. About 30 color pages, in Japanese, lots of pretty pictures
-Watase Yuu Perfect World vol. 1: Fushigi Yuugi (has some various Fushigi Yuugi manga chapters, plus extras)
Japan related:
-Fruits magazine (Japanese alternative fashion) from 2004 (it's number 88)
Musical related:
-The Scarlet Pimpernel souvenir pamphlet. This was one of the productions starring Ron Boehner. About 20 pages, full color.
-The Rocky Horror Show souvenir pamphlet (2000 revival). About 20 pages, full color.
Next up is some old posters.
